The annual SISU SKI FEST begins in Erwin Township at ABR TRAILS with the "Finnish LINE" in downtown Ironwood. The SISU Ski Fest is comprised of 4 ski events, the 31K SISU Ski Race, 15K Heikki Lunta Ski Race, Hauska Hiihto 5K Ski and Depot Dash. The Sisu Ski Fest is dedicated to promoting silent sports with an emphasis on cross-country ski racing and generating economic activity in the Ironwood area. Each year, the organization gives out cash grants to the community to promote these values.

The Erwin Township Historical Society is accepting memberships. Individual $15.00 or a Family $25.00. Anyone interested in supporting and becoming a member of the Historical Society is welcome to join. Send membership fee to Erwin Historical Society, P. O. Box 412, Ironwood, MI 49938. The Erwin Historical Society is a section 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Everyone is encouraged to attend the monthly meetings of the Historical Society. We appreciate your involvement, the sharing of your ideas, and your support. There are opportunities to join committees to share your time and talents. Society The Historical Society meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. at the Erwin Township Hall.
